I’m often asked to review some of the Medifast products that the company offers. People often want to know which products are good or worth the money. So, in the following article, I’ll tell you which products, in my experience and observation, are the most popular and / or useful.

The Medifast Blender: I believe that the official name for this product is the “healthmate blender,” but whatever you call it, this gadget helps to make the shakes, soups, drinks, and puddings taste better and it also makes them easier to prepare. I’ve tried to use other blenders when on vacation or away from my home or office, but at least in my view, nothing works quite as the healthmate blender, especially in terms of texture, which leads me to my next point.

The Medifast Shakes: It’s probably no coincidence that the shakes are the most popular product on the diet. They’re very filling, taste pretty good, and are easy to prepare. They’re also a very convenient meal that can be made ahead of time if need be. I suspect that the 55 shakes are the most popular, but the ready to drink variety are probably a close second. And they have many different shakes based on your health and / or dieting needs.

The Medifast Bars: These are a staple of the diet also. There are two kinds: the maintenance and the crunch. You’re not limited with the crunch variety, but you’re only allowed one maintenance bar per day (because this one is higher in fat, carbs, and calories.) Still, both types of bars are quite yummy and all you have to do is remove the wrapper and you’re on your way.

The Medifast Brownies: This is new product that has really taken off. The product come with a little tray to which you just add water. Then, you put it in the microwave and out comes a warm brownie that’s low in calories and carbs and high in protein and fiber. Not many diets offer treats like this. And the taste and texture is pretty decent.

The Drinks: The company offers cold drinks (like iced tea and fruit drinks – which are good over shaved ice,) but I’m very partial to the hot drinks. I very much like the lattes, the hot cocoa, and the cappuccino. In fact, I’ve been know to mix them together to make myself a sort of diet mocha.

The Eggs And Chili: The reason that I like both of these products so much is that they are versatile. They’re both pretty good on their own, but you can use the eggs as a basis for many breakfast or lunch dishes and the chili can be used as the basis for many wraps and burritos. Speaking of recipes, the next couple of products fall under that category.

Medifast Lean And Green Meal Recipe Cookbook: I’m often asked for lean and green recipes and this cookbook fits that bill. (You will be eating one “lean and green meal” each day.) There are almost 40 meals in this cookbook and each one lists the calorie, carb, protein, fiber, sugar, fat. sodium, and cholesterol content of each recipe.

The Medifast Recipes Cookbook: Rather than covering lean and green meals, this cookbook basically shows you how to spice up the prepackaged meals (of which you will eat five each day.) It covers sauces, spices, seasonings and marinades. It’s definitely worth having this information because it allows for you to give yourself much more variety.

The Quick Start Guide: This is typically free with every package, but it’s very useful. It answers most of the questions that you might have about the program and gives you a great place to start.
